The Award for Best Documentary Goes to …

“If it was easy everyone would be doing it.”

Sometimes the work you do isn’t as simple or as straightforward as you’d like. Complex model templates, functions, and filters all crop up in your Monarch models from time to time. Will you remember why you built it the way you did it or how it all works together, if you revisit the model in a few months time to enhance or adjust it a little?

Monarch v9 makes it a whole lot easier with its built-in commenting facilities. Every Monarch object allows you to write a comment to describe your use of that object, or the way something is used within the model.

Monarch will let you type more than 32,000 characters in every comment. Use that to your advantage. Take an extra couple of minutes and write it up properly. Don’t be too brief. While the person who reads these comments in a few months could be someone else, it could also be you. Wouldn’t it be frustrating if your own comments didn’t tell you enough about why you did what you did and, if it was particularly difficult, how you did it?

Take the time to do it right, and it will be apparent to all who come after you that you excel with Monarch.
