I’ve made mention of it once or twice over the last year, but I continue to be somewhat fascinated at the diversity of the backgrounds of the visitors to ExcelWithMonarch.com. It really does reflect the universal need for manageable data acquisition and usage in a self-service manner.
But there are two specific visitor types that I’m really pleased to see regularly come by: government offices and medical institutions.
Their ongoing interest in Monarch tells me that they’re doing everything that they can to make the most of their existing systems. Their information needs were more than the tools that they had in place could provide, and being financially prudent and accountable to many, they chose the best software to provide their required solutions.
Implementing new information systems for these sectors can be both outrageously expensive and slow. Implementing Monarch software is the exact opposite situation in that:
- it’s positively cheap in comparison – to the point of likely being but an infinitesimally small percentage of the cost of a large replacement system, and
- it can be deployed in minutes, hours or days depending on the number of users.
Additionally, Monarch is far more flexible than the dedicated purpose system ever can be, as the application of the program is really up to you and your needs. Think of how different people use Excel. It’s the same program in use by each person, but what they do with it is completely different.
Do rock stars use Monarch?
For those of us working with Monarch in much smaller organizations, it’s reassuring to know that you’re using the same software tool that the “big guys” are using, and are likely achieving similar benefits. It’s like playing the same instruments played by your favorite musician, or using the same equipment used by your sports hero. 
Governments and health care providers may not be perfect – OK, we know that they’re often not – but there is definitely some hope in the awareness that the people that we empower to respectively run our countries and keep us healthy actively choose to excel with Monarch.
