Organizing Access to Your Documents

in General / Tips

If you have data files organized into a number of folders, or even different drives, it can be cumbersome to navigate all over the place to get what you want.

To make navigation much easier, create a My Shortcuts folder on your C: drive. Store shortcuts to all of your often used locations in this folder.

Now, in Monarch, go to the Options menu and select Folders…

Set the default folder for each file type to C:\My Shortcuts, and you’ll likely save a lot of time and aggravation when opening your data sources, models and project files.

Credit where credit is due: thanks to Nick, who passed this tip on to me some time ago.
